Policy and projects

The RSPH [Royal Society for Public Health] is an influential body in the field of public health. On behalf of our members, and with their direct contribution, we advocate measures to improve health and to support the public health workforce.

The RSPH [Royal Society for Public Health] firmly believes in the value of working together to achieve common goals. Our partnerships include large commercial organisations working within the public health arena, a growing body of corporate members including multinational companies, government departments and other not for profit organisations.

Policy

The RSPH [Royal Society for Public Health] will lead from the front in voicing the case for public health. Our advocacy role will always be driven by what is in the best public health interest. Frequently this will entail arguing for the investment in the policies and infrastructure likely to be effective in delivering better health. On occassions we will need to voice our views through mass media, but we will often argue the case in a measured manner directly with key decision makers and their advisors. Our case will always be underpinned by evidence and good practice.

Mediation between different interests will be a prominent feature of our work. With strong links to the private, public and charitable sectors as well as our close association with consumer bodies, the RSPH [Royal Society for Public Health] is often ideally placed to bring the different players together in the interests of health improvement. Our active involvement with the UK Water for Health alliance is an excellent example of this.

Championing the cause of health will always be our primary concern.
