Tab 1: Conference Overview
‘No’ said the Queen, ‘first the sentence, and then the evidence!’
Even though it’s been over 30 years since the first recognised outbreak of Legionnaires’ Disease, there are still many aspects of this infection that are not understood. This conference will provide essential updates on clinical and microbiological diagnosis, the emerging epidemiological trends and question and review the effectiveness of control and prevention policies for legionella infections. Our internationally recognised speakers will share their experiences of managing outbreaks in hospital and health care settings, hotels, ships and communities. We will also highlight emerging environmental and climate change factors as well as new guidance and the legal requirements for successful management of this disease. Looking to the future, information on how London is preparing for the control and prevention of legionella infections associated with the 2012 Olympics will also be presented.
Who should attend?
This exciting and informative conference will provide essential updates for people working in health protection, communicable disease control, medical microbiology and environmental health. Water treatment companies, tour operators, hotel or cruise ship managers and plumbing and heating engineers will also benefit from attending this stimulating conference.
