Tab 1: Event Overview

Tuesday 2nd March 2010, 5.00pm
Venue: 28 Portland Place, London W1B 1DE

What is mental health and how does it relate to stress and distress? What is the relationship between work and mental health? This, our first members’ event of 2010, will explain the concept of mental health and the connections it has with stress and the workplace. The event will examine what employers can do to improve the mental health of their workforce, reducing the human and financial
costs of absenteeism and any drops in productivity caused by mental health problems. We will also look at how employees can be helped to look after their
own mental health and guided to seek help if they become distressed.

Steve Jones is an independent clinical psychologist, trainer and consultant, and has a wealth of experience in dealing with improving mental health in the work environment.

The talk will run until around 6pm, after which there will be an opportunity to network.
