What does it cover?

The Level 2 award in Understanding Health Improvement provides knowledge and understanding of the benefits of good health and well being, and of the barriers to making a change of lifestyle. It covers:

  • Factors affecting health, health inequalities and barriers
  • How to help people change
  • Basic models of behaviour change and how to use these to help people
  • Confidentiality
  • Evaluation

Who is it suitable for?

This qualification is specifically designed for people who work with the public in a healthcare environment and those who have an interest in developing public health skills. It is the first step towards becoming a fully qualified Health Trainer and is also relevant to people working in pharmacies, sports centres, care homes, colleges or schools. In short, this qualification is designed for anyone who is concerned with the well being of the people in their community.
 

We also run 'Train the Trainer' workshops in this area. Please see the events listing for dates for the one and two day 'Train the Trainer' courses.

 
This is one of our health and well being courses. These programmes cover a range of topics related to the development and implementation of health and well being programmes within commercial organisations or the wider community. These are of relevance to anyone who is interested in or has responsibility for promoting health and wellbeing in their place of work or community.

Unfortunately there is no parking for participants, however there is an all day car park around corner for £3.
