The RSPH runs the Faculty of Occupational Medicine (FOM) approved course to prepare candidates for the Diploma’s written examination and the oral examination based on a portfolio. The course includes several sessions by representatives of the Faculty who discuss the whole qualification; a mock exam is given at the end of the course and advice is given on how to write the portfolio for the oral examination.

Who should attend?:

The FOM Diploma has been designed for registered practitioners. It demonstrates that the holder has achieved a competence appropriate to a generalist working in occupational health. This course is the foundation level qualification required for occupational medicine. Please note that if you are not registered with the General Medical Council (for example, you may be practising in another country) and wish to sit the Faculty examination, you must send your primary medical certificate to the Faculty (faxed copies are not acceptable). This will then be verified by the Academic Dean.
