Welcome

Shaping the Future of Health Promotion was established in 2006. It is a UK-wide collaboration hosted and led by the Royal Society for Public Health, with the Faculty of Public Health, UK Public Health Register and Institute of Health Promotion and Education, and is partly funded by the UK Departments of Health.
Its aims are to:

  • Advocate for the importance of specialised health promotion within public health
  • Support the specialised health promotion workforce
These aims are derived from the main recommendations of the 2005 report Shaping the Future of Public Health: Promoting Health in the NHS, published by the Department of Health and the Welsh Assembly Government.
