The Royal Society for Public Health is delighted to invite you to participate in a workshop on the Standards and Competencies of Health Promotion and Behavioural Change Workforces in England.
The workshops are part of a consultation project that the English Department of Health has commissioned to RSPH in the context of the Shaping the Future of Health Promotion collaboration.
The format of the workshops will be semi-structured discussions on the development of the health promotion workforce. Your contributions will form part of the final report to be submitted to the Department of Health in the spring of 2010. Key stakeholders from relevant areas are expected to participate (such as RSPH academic members, public health and health promotion experts, etc.)
We will be holding workshops nationally in the following regions:
London, South East and East of England
25th January in Central London, 1:00pm – 4:00pm
South West England
3rd February at Bournemouth University, 1:00pm – 4:00pm
West and East Midlands
8th February at The Birmingham Centre of Voluntary Action (BVSC), 1:00pm – 4:00pm
North of England
22nd February at Leeds Metropolitan University, 1:00pm – 3:30pm

The 9th December 2009 will see the launch of a new commissioning guide for promoting health and well-being by the RSPH. The launch will take place in central London and will bring together many noted public health professionals including Sir Muir Gray, Director of The National Knowledge Service who will give the keynote speech.
RSPH has launched a new one day course explaining how climate change affects health and giving practical advice on how to reduce carbon emissions in the workplace and wider community.
