  1. Would You Know What to do in a Mental Health Emergency?

    A quarter of us will experience at least one mental health problem in any one year, and yet stigma and prejudice are still widespread. In recognition of this hidden health crisis, The Royal Society for Public Health has today accredited the Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) training programme in England, developed to establish a network of people with the skills and knowledge to take this essential first aid training into the community.

The RSPH is supporting the dissemination of the fact sheets and the development of consistent standards in the content of nutrition training in the health and social care sectors through its participation in the activities of the Department of Health Nutrition Summit Training sub group

  9. New Chair appointed at the Royal Society for Public Health

    On April 1st 2009 Dr Selwyn Hodge will become Chair of the Royal Society for Public Health (RSPH). Dr Hodge will be taking over from Professor Alan Maryon Davis, Inaugural Chair of the RSPH, who oversaw the merger of the Royal Society for Health (RSH) and the Royal Institute of Public Health (RIPH) in September 2008, and helped lead the organisation through their first six months of operation.

  10. Health Trainers Topic of Radio 4 Programme

    In 2007 the RSPH was funded by the Department of Health to develop a programme of learning for Health Trainers. This has resulted in the development of the RSPH Level 2 Award in Understanding Health Improvement.
