RSPH Chief Executive talks about Swine 'Flu

30 April 2009

RSPH Chief Executive, Professor Richard Parish, was invited to talk to MSN's Senior News Officer, Laura Snook, about the risks posed by swine 'flu.

Professor Parish urges the public not to panic about the increasing threat of swine 'flu and points out that we are not yet sure that this will escalate to a full-scale pandemic. He does however highlight that a 'flu pandemic is 'long overdue', but also says that outside of Mexico the severity of this strain is quite low and so shouldn't cause panic.

Professor Parish supports the Government claims that the UK is well prepared to deal with a 'flu pandemic.
