This seminar will provide a timely opportunity to discuss priorities for the new Government in improving mental health services in England, with the main political parties setting out their commitments for the future of policy in this area.

We expect sessions to consider progress so far in embedding parity of esteem within Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) and the next steps for delivering a holistic and cross-sector approach to mental health provision. Further areas for discussion include NHS England’s commitments to mental health outlined in the Next steps on the NHS Five Year Forward View, including the introduction of a specialised mental health service for veterans and a 20% increase in talking therapies by 2018/19.

Delegates will also explore further action for creating a specialist mental health workforce and the potential of the Global Digital Exemplars for Mental Health sites to empower patients.
