The National Mental Health Development Unit (NMHDU) has supported the development of a national training programme in Mental Health First Aid (MHFA) to help people recognise the symptoms of mental health problems, offer initial help to the person affected and provide information about sources of professional support. Trainees may work in commercial organisations, in teaching, the police or the prison services.

 

RSPH has accredited the training programme for MHFA course instructors and this accreditation provides an independent reassurance of the programme’s quality and content.
