The delegation included representatives from the Safeguarding Board, Youth Justice Agency and officers from the Police Service of Northern Ireland.

The purpose of the visit was to share the experiences of the Programme so far with colleagues in Northern Ireland to help to inform them and share our learning to date as they look to implement trauma informed practice under the leadership of the Safeguarding Board within Northern Ireland.

Helen McKenzie, Project Lead, Safeguarding Board Northern Ireland commented: “It was a great day and we learnt a huge amount. We cannot thank the Early Action Together team enough for their professionalism and willingness to share their learning from the programme. It was refreshing to get a ‘real world’ insight to different delivery aspects of the programme and it will inform our thinking and implementation tremendously.

The hosting of the Northern Ireland delegation by the Police and Partners ACEs Programme - Early Action Together  mirrored a similar multi agency learning event which the team hosted in Cardiff in May 2018 for a similar delegation from Scotland.

Sergeant Joanne Logan from Police Scotland, commented: “A massive thank you to the Early Action Together Programme team for everything. Our visit was hugely beneficial and your honesty throughout it around challenges and success was immensely appreciated. Everything that you delivered was relevant and what we were looking for.”
