RSPH and ITN Productions Industry News have partnered once again to co-produce a news and current affairs-style programme Healthier Environments exploring the current public health issues and initiatives that are making a difference across the country.
Healthier Environments addresses the fundamental issues concerning public health today, primarily the impact of social media on mental health and the threat from rising obesity numbers. Presented by UK news presenter Natasha Kaplinsky, OBE, ITN Productions Industry News’ global network of leading reporters showcase the revolutionary work taking place by the wider health workforce to combat these challenges.
From new social prescription pilots targeting the younger generation, hospital-based alcohol liaison services, scientific evidence-based nutritional education and the vaccine heroes improving and protecting the nation’s health, the programme raises awareness of the unhailed work enhancing the country’s wellbeing.
Healthier Environments launches at the RSPH Health and Wellbeing Awards in London on Thursday 17 October 2019.
Shirley Cramer, Chief Executive, Royal Society of Public Health said: “The places where we live, work and play, all have a powerful influence on your health and wellbeing, throughout your life. This environmental impact varies significantly depending upon where you live and can lead to quite stark and often unacceptable health inequalities.
Working with ITN on this programme means that we can continue to shine a light on the impact different places have, the good work different organisations are doing to respond to the challenge of environments across the country, and ultimately how we can transform them for the good of the public’s health and wellbeing.”
Vicki Clubley, Head of ITN Productions Industry News, said: “We’re really excited by the opportunity to work with RSPH to create a thought-provoking programme highlighting the issues challenging the nation’s health and the pioneering developments that aim to improve health outcomes.”
The programme features key industry interviews, news items and sponsored editorial profiles from the following organisations:
