flash points: an exploration of arts and health across the ages

4.30pm - 7.00pm

Following on from the AGM, this free event hosted by Shirley Cramer CBE, Chief Executive of RSPH, will include a discussion of how the creative arts such as photography can be employed to engage, and ultimately improve, the public’s health.

The event will also see the unveiling of selected entries and the winners of the photography competition flash points: an exploration of health across the life course.

Keynote speaker Professor Stephen Clift, Director of the Sidney De Haan Centre, will give delegates a brief outline of the arts and health and RSPH’s contribution to the field. We will also be joined by Michael Pritchard, Director General of the Royal Photographic Society, and award-winning photographers Chris Steele-Perkins and Sian Davey who will introduce the flash points exhibition, announce the winners of the competition and discuss how photography can be used to reflect public health and wider societal issues.

This event is also an opportunity to celebrate our award winners and high achievers in our qualifications. Awards will be presented by Shirley Cramer CBE.

Refreshments will be provided.
