There is a general perception amongst nursing and medical staff that because sinks are used for hand hygiene the sinks are safe. However, in reality the hospital sink poses many headaches for infection control and estates engineers.

Lack of use, poor temperature control and adding nutrients to the bugs growing in the drain all increase the potential for waterborne infections.

This webinar considers the applicable hazards and factors that lead to waterborne infections from water outlets and offers some practical approaches to managing risks.
