RSPH is pleased to announce the development of a new qualification to meet the need for a 'radical upgrade in prevention and public health'.

Aimed at supporting workers in Community, Commercial and Blue Light Service sectors, the Level 2 Award in Improving the Public’s Health will enable the wider public health workforce to support behaviour change that leads to healthier lifestyles.

Learners will gain a knowledge and understanding of the principles of health improvement, mental health and wellbeing and insights into developing relationships with clients. It will also enable them to investigate the health issues relevant to their local community using sources such as a JSNA and suggest ways to reduce the harmful effects of these.

This new qualification consists of 4 units which will be assessed by multiple choice exam, learner workbook and portfolio of evidence.

It will be available for centres to deliver from 1 January 2017. Please see the detailed specification below for reference.
