As part of our work with NHS England on the national Core20PLUS5 Connectors programme, we are moving to the second phase of the project with an offer of 180 free training places.

This work is part of a wider strategy to develop the capacity, capability, and skills available in communities to tackle inequalities and improve health and wellbeing.

The offer follows phase one, in which 12 applicants are selected for a free ‘train the trainers’ scheme to deliver Core20PLUS5 Connectors programme to learners.

What does the Core20PLUS5 Connectors programme involve?

The Core20PLUS5 Connectors programme is delivered over two half-days or one full day of training. It includes the RSPH Level 2 Award in Public Health as the core component, as support to develop the skills to apply the Core20PLUS5 framework in communities. To achieve the Level 2 qualification, participants will complete a short multiple-choice examination at the end of the training.

The Core20PLUS5 framework is a national approach to inform action to reduce healthcare inequalities at both national and system level. The approach defines a target population – the ‘Core20PLUS’ – and identifies ‘5’ focus clinical areas requiring accelerated improvement.

The project is funding assessment fees for up to 180 learners who attend the training between April-July. If you are interested in taking part or would like to explore delivering the training in your area, please complete the register of interest below.
