How Did you get into Pest Control?

I was kind of forced into pest control due to my youngest son, Rhys, getting diagnosed with child hood liver disease and ulcerative colitis at 12 year old. Having lots of time off for hospital appointments was making things unbearable at my workplace so, after speaking with my dad who has worked in pest control for years, I decided to get qualified and set up on my own.

How has your career developed since you started?

I have always been around pest control and involved from childhood through my dad, but I wanted to push for more and offer more services so got qualified and have become an expert at drain surveying for rodent ingress.

What is the most rewarding part of your job?

Solving problems (mainly rats) where others have been unable to and to see the look of relief on my clients' faces.

We're always learning so, no matter how much you think you know, theres always room to learn more from others.

What would you say to someone considering a career in Pest Control?

Absolutely 100% give it a go. I've made lots of friends in the industry and also now have my son Owen working with me who absolutely loves the job too.
