In August and September, Perspectives in Public Health are releasing two special edition journals on The Role of Creative Health in Public Health, guest edited by Arts Council England and the National Centre for Creative Health.
To celebrate the launch of these special editions, we would like to invite you to join us for this webinar on Creative Public Health. Here, we will be joined by researchers from Mobilising Community Assets to Tackle Health Inequalities - a programme which explores how collaborative community, cultural and nature-based activities can improve health inequalities across the UK.

Darren Henley CBE is chief executive of Arts Council England. His boardroom experience spans the arts, media, education, charity and government. Previously managing director of Classic FM, he authored two independent government reviews into music and cultural education. After studying politics, management and art history, he trained as a positive psychologist and as a coach, completing a doctorate exploring how outsiders drive change. His book The Arts Dividend: How Investment in Culture Creates Happier Lives champions happiness as a public policy goal and highlights the positive impact of public investment in artists, arts organisations, museums and libraries across England.

Helen Chatterjee is Helen is a Professor of Human and Ecological Health working across UCL Biosciences and UCL Arts and Sciences. Helen co-founded the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance (CHWA) and is a Founding Trustee of the National Centre for Creative Health (NCCH). Helen currently serves as the Principal Investigator for the £30MUKRI-funded research programme, Mobilising Community Assets to Tackle Health Inequalities. Her research includes evidencing the impact of natural and cultural participation on health. Her interdisciplinary research has won a range of awards including a Special Commendation from Public Health England for Sustainable Development. In 2015, she received an MBE for Services to Higher Education and Culture.

Teresa Salami-Oru is a Consultant in Public Health and Fellow with the Faculty of Public Health, and a Registered General Nurse. She currently serves as a Co-Investigator on the Coastal Community & Creative Health project (2024–2027), funded by the Arts and Humanities Research Council, and is a trustee at the National Centre for Creative Health. With over two decades of public health experience, she has held senior roles and board positions at local and regional levels. She is recognised for her leadership in Creative Health, supporting wellbeing and prevention efforts, along with her ability to forge strong partnerships between local authorities and academic institutions.
