Dr Teresa Inkster is a Consultant Microbiologist and Infection Control Doctor with ARHAI Scotland. She has extensive experience in dealing with healthcare incidents and outbreaks including those due to waterborne pathogens. She also teaches outbreak management and built environment modules on a Masters in IPC course at University of Highlands and Islands.

Consultant medical microbiologist and infection control doctor with over 40 years experience in the NHS. Currently working as the specialist adviser for microbiology in the New Hospital Programme. Key areas of interest water, wastewater systems, AMR and occupant safety. Publications include; working member of national guidance including the NHS E technical bulletin on Mycobacterium abscessus and a book ‘safe water in healthcare’.
