What are the RSPH Health & Wellbeing Awards?
Established in 2007, the RSPH Health & Wellbeing Awards are the UK's premier public health awards scheme for promoting health and wellbeing.
The Awards recognise and celebrate a wide range of people and organisations that are working in innovative ways to improve the population’s health and address the wider social determinants of health.
Can I apply to the RSPH Health & Wellbeing Awards 2026?
The 2026 awards are now open for applications! Please download the form below and make sure to refer to the guidance to make sure your application has the best possible chance of success.
Please note that only organisations based in the UK can apply. Applications close on 27 March 2026 at 17:00.
Why should you apply to the Awards?
- Previous winners have gone on to win funding bids, receive media coverage and attract new trustees and patrons.
- The awards are, and always have been, free to enter.
- Each finalist will receive two free tickets to the RSPH Awards ceremony, where the winners will be announced.
What are the Awards categories?
Open to applications from across the UK, the Awards span six categories that are designed to account for the sheer breadth of public health related projects and programmes. The categories are:

The Arts & Health Award recognises organisations whose work has furthered the contribution of the creative arts to health and wellbeing.

The Community Health Development Award celebrates the work of successful place-based initiatives that improve the health of residents and community environments in a way that contributes to long-lasting change.

The Health & Wellbeing in Workplaces Award is an opportunity for employers to show their commitment to the health and wellbeing of their workforce.

This Health at Every Age Award celebrates programmes that improve the health and wellbeing of a specific age group, either through improving their health in the here and now, or protecting their future health.

The Healthier Lives Award recognises the effectiveness of projects and programmes that support people to lead healthier lives across a range of settings, such as education, employment, housing, and community.

This Mental Health & Wellbeing Award focuses is the prevention of mental ill health and promotion of better mental health across the life course.
The Public Health Minister’s Award
Developed in partnership with Department of Health and Social Care and launched in 2014, the Public Health Minister's Award recognises excellence and innovation in public health programmes spanning the six categories.
The winner is selected from the finalists of the RSPH Health & Wellbeing Award by a Department of Health Award Committee led by the Public Health Minister.
