Learners will increase their knowledge and understanding of why people smoke, the personal and social consequences of this and how individuals can be helped and supported to stop smoking.
To achieve this qualification a candidate must:
- Understand factors that result in people smoking
- Understand the personal and social consequences of smoking
- Know how to provide help and support to the individual with regard to smoking cessation
This single unit qualification is a stand alone individual qualification and can also be taken as one of the optional units as part of the Level 2 Award for Young Health Champions.
This qualification is on The Education and Skills Funding Agency list of qualifications approved for funding. This funding will be withdrawn with effect from 1 August 2021.
This qualification is for individuals with an interest in health who are also interested in helping others develop a healthier lifestyle by stopping smoking.
