What is it?

This qualification is for individuals with an interest in health who are also interested in helping others develop a healthier lifestyle by addressing the issue of alcohol misuse. 

To achieve this qualification a candidate must:

  1. Understand factors that result in people misusing alcohol
  2. Understand the personal and social consequences of alcohol misuse
  3. Know how to provide help and support to the individual

This single unit qualification is a stand alone individual qualification, and can also be taken as one of the optional units as part of the Level 2 Award for Young Health Champions.

This qualification is on The Education and Skills Funding Agency list of qualifications approved for funding.
