Our Annual Conference was held on 22 October at the King's Fund and attended by over 250 delegates. Speakers included David Heymann, Chairman Public Health England, Toby Cosgrove MD CEO of the Cleveland Clinic and Public Health Minister Jane Ellison.
In the last year over 60,000 people have taken one of our qualifications, and during our annual event we always recognise individuals who have achieved the highest marks in their chosen course.
The winners who were presented with their certificates by RSPH President Lord Hunt of Kings Heath:
- Sarah Jolly-Hart: Level 4 Food Safety in Manufacturing trained by Verner Wheelock
- Cathal McDonnell: Level 4 Award in HACCP trained by The College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise
- Thomas Rees: Level 4 Food Safety in Catering trained by Food Alert Limited
- Tim Green: Level 2 Award in Pest Management trained by Pest Train
- Athena Sinclair: Level 3 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology trained by University Hospital North Tees
- Suzie Bishop: Level 4 Diploma in Anatomical Pathology Technology trained by RSPH

Arts & Health Awards
Also recognised at the annual conference were the Arts & Health Awards, where we presented the two overall winners with their awards:
- Combined practice and research award: Home Front
- Practice award: Abandoned Brothers by Re-Live
The main awards ceremony for the Arts and Health Awards will be held on 18 November, where we will also present our special commendations to organisations who have demonstrated excellence in the arts and health field.
Public Health
The most downloaded issue of the journal Public Health in 2014 was presented to the Guest Editors of the February 2014 issue 'World Health Organization: past, present and future' Professor Lawrence Gostin, Georgetown University and Dr Devi Sridhar, Edinburgh University.
