Sheffield Teaching Hospitals, in association with the Healthcare Infection Society, are to run the "Don't Panic!" meeting on 19th and 20th  June 2017 looking at current issues and practical aspects of Infection Control. It would be of interest to microbiologists and infection control nurses, public health staff and biomedical scientists. The registration fee is £60 per day which includes refreshments and the meeting is recognised for CPD.

The programme includes lectures on:

• Can we really achieve a reduction in E. coli bacteraemia?
• Practical strategies for reducing Gram negative bacteraemia
• Clostridium difficile: which control measures make a difference?
• Clostridium difficile: From zero to hero!
• Using Influenza point of care testing to improve patient flow
• Category 4 PPE practices: which method is best?
• Managing the fallout  from Pertussis in high-risk populations
• What’s the best terminal disinfection after CPE?
• Understanding the contaminated Intensive Care environment
• Update: Mycobacterium chimera in cardiothoracic surgery
• Managing outbreaks of TB in the workplace
• What’s happening with Candida auris?  (PHE session)

The meeting will be held at The Workstation, Sheffield, conveniently located opposite the station. Accommodation is available in local hotels at discounted rates.

You are invited to submit abstracts for the poster display by the deadline of April 30th.  A prize of registration and travel to Hospital Infection Society 2018 Spring meeting will be awarded to the lead author/presenter of the best poster.
