This seminar will assess the future landscape for commissioning and delivering specialised services in England. Delegates will consider the impact of Sustainability and Transformation Partnerships (STPs) on specialised commissioning, with areas agreeing to become Accountable Care Systems (ACSs) taking over delegated responsibility from NHS England to deliver specialised services.

They will also discuss NICE's changes to the funding of the Highly Specialised Technologies (HST) programme and a developing role for NHS England in assessing the cost-effectiveness of these treatments. Further sessions will address the challenges in meeting increasing patient demand for specialised services, following NHS England’s decision on funding Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP), the efficacy of the new National Programmes of Care and Clinical Reference Groups in encouraging quality and innovation in service delivery and the next steps for the adoption of new technologies.
