The RSPH Level 1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment is currently assessed by a multiple-choice examination with a pass mark of 32/45. All awarding organisations that offer this qualification and which assess the qualification by a multiple-choice test are required by CITB to have a minimum pass mark of 80%. Any Awarding Organisations that fail to comply with this will have the entitlement of their certificate holders to apply for a CSCS green card removed.

In order to comply with this requirement, and to ensure that holders of this RSPH qualification can continue to enjoy the benefits of a CSCS green card, the pass mark for the RSPH examination will increase to 36/45, this will take effect from 1 August 2019.

Please note that all examination papers received by RSPH from 1st August will be marked against the new pass mark, (36/45). Centres who wish to have their current stock of examination papers marked against the old pass mark (32/45) must return the candidates answer sheets to RSPH no later than the 29th July 2019 to ensure grading by the 31st July 2019. Answer sheets received after 31st July 2019 will be marked against the new pass mark.
