Sophie Linden, Deputy Mayor for Policing and Crime, accompanied by Siobhan Peters, CFO MOPAC and James Bevan from the office of the Mayor for Policing and Crime, visited Newport Central Police Station on Friday 12 July to meet with police and partner leads of the Early Action Together Programme.

The visit was focused on serious violence prevention and the ground-breaking, early intervention work being done in Wales by the four police forces and partner organisations, to better understand Adverse Childhood Experiences and the impact they can have on policing and the criminal justice system.

Representation from across the programme included Emma Wools, Deputy Police and Crime Commissioner for South Wales and Chair of the National Early Action Together Programme Board, and Joanne Hopkins, Director the Wales ACES Support Hub, along with a representative on behalf of the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent, Gwent Police and Newport City Council.
