As part of its regular review of qualifications and their content, RSPH has either already updated or will be updating a number of them this year to ensure that they continue to provide effective and relevant certification of skills.

Level 2 Award for Young Health Champions Qualification

This award recently replaced the Level 2 Certificate for Youth Health Champions. It will enable learners to provide peer support through an understanding of the individual and social drivers of healthy and unhealthy behaviours as well as signpost local health services. It will also provide knowledge of a health and wellbeing issue relevant to the learner and develop skills to deliver positive health messages.

Level 2 Award in Understanding Emotional Wellbeing

This award will be launched on 1 March 2018 and was previously an optional unit in the Level 2 Award for Young Health Champions. It explores the spectrum of mental ill health through to emotional wellbeing and the impact it has on physical and social health. It also looks at how resilience is developed and how it enables individuals to cope with challenges.

Level 2 Award in Supporting Behaviour Change

This award will replace the existing Level 2 Award in Understanding Behaviour Change in the spring. The qualification specification is currently being finalised, so if you are interested in providing feedback, please email us by 5 February 2018.

RSPH will be reviewing the following qualifications in relation to their content and assessment.

If you would like to provide feedback on these, please email us by 5 February 2018.

Food Safety qualifications

Food Safety is a vital part of everyday life, and it is imperative that those who work with food meet current legislation and training requirements. To support this, RSPH recently launched a new suite of food safety qualifications from Level 2 to Level 4. These qualifications will allow centres to offer a more flexible route for learners, while providing greater employment opportunities will open up to a wider community.
