The qualifications equip students with the knowledge, skills and understanding to promote the health and wellbeing of individuals, groups and communities. Mapped to the Public Health Skills and Knowledge Framework, they cover social prescribing, and will enable students to carry out conversations and consultations with these audiences, and support them in recognising factors that might affect their health and wellbeing.

RSPH Centres will develop their own assessments to ensure they meet the needs of students. The qualifications can be delivered through e-learning, face to face and distance learning and Centres will also use a range of methods to assess their learners, including examinations, coursework and a portfolio of evidence.

The new qualifications are recommended for health trainers, care navigators, health and wellbeing advocates, social prescribing link workers, health mentors, health coaches, and wellbeing support workers. They are also suitable for those working as a health champion or in a similar role and the wider public health workforce who are wishing to progress their career in this area.

Students, once qualified, can apply for RSPH membership which offers a range of benefits including professional recognition, post-nominal letters, CPD credits, and discounts on our events and courses.
