The Qualification of the Year Award recognises qualifications that have shown an exceptional level of performance in the previous twelve months. This can be through meeting an emerging industry need, making a major impact in a niche area or by successfully reaching and engaging a specific audience.

The Level 2 Award in Encouraging Vaccination Uptake was designed in partnership with Lambeth Council and RBE Associates, supported by funding from the South-East London Clinical Commissioning Group. In the past twelve months, it has been delivered to nearly 500 learners across the UK. This has included working with NHS England to train key staff such as midwives and school immunisation nurses, to partnering with Groundswell to support individuals working in homelessness support services.

“We’re delighted to have been shortlisted for this Award,” says Richard Burton, Director of Qualifications. “This qualification operates in an area of real importance to the public’s health and we’re very pleased to see how useful it has been to our centres and our learners. We hope that this recognition will encourage others to reach out to us and consider how they might be able to use the qualification to support learners in their locality.”

“We’re delighted to have received so many nominations of such a high standard for the prestigious FAB 2022 Awards,” says Tom Bewick, the Federation’s Chief Executive. The Awards showcase excellence in awarding and assessment and celebrate the contributions of individuals and teams to developing high-quality qualifications, and innovative and inclusive practice. To reach the final of the FAB Awards is no mean feat and I extend my warm congratulations to all finalists and wish them luck.”
