The RSPH Special Interest Group (SIG) in Arts, Health and Wellbeing is a 250-strong body of researchers and practitioners working in the field of arts and health. The group shares research and best practice, organises conferences, seminars and workshops and works on influencing government policy as a professional body.

We are now recruiting for three people to join the steering committee due to planned rotational changes in committee membership. This is a significant opportunity to be involved in major national strategic activities relating to the field of arts and health and to expand connections with researchers, practitioners, funders and policy makers.

The group is governed by a steering committee that is responsible for the SIG’s strategy and oversees the activities of the group, in particular the high-level relationships between the SIG, Arts Council England, the Culture, Health and Wellbeing Alliance and the All Party Parliamentary Group for Arts, Health and Wellbeing as well as public health bodies and other professional organisations.

The successful applicant will be invited to join the SIG steering group meetings, which take place four times a year in London, and contribute to the discussions. In addition, committee members will also be asked to participate in working groups, from time to time, in areas of interest to the SIG.

This opportunity is open to researchers and research-oriented practitioners in the UK, currently carrying out research and/or practice at the intersection of the arts, health and wellbeing. You will need to be available to attend the three of four meetings each year beginning on 11 September or 4 December 2018.

There is no fee for involvement in the steering group, but reasonable travel expenses can be reimbursed. We ask that the successful applicant join RSPH as a member if you are not one at the time of application and that a two-year commitment is made to the role.
