What is Public Health?

Public Health is an international, multi-disciplinary peer-reviewed journal, published by Elsevier. It is one of the world’s oldest public health journals, having been in continuous publication since 1888. 

Public Health publishes original research papers, reviews and short communications on all aspects of the science, philosophy and practice of public health and is published twelve times a year.

It is aimed at all public health practitioners and researchers and those who manage or contribute to public health services, programmes and systems, and has an International Editorial Board made up of a distinguished panel of public health experts from around the world.

Health Inequalities: A Special Issue for the Journal Public Health

The focus of this special issue is to capture action-orientated studies that report the impacts of policies, interventions and changes in practice that seek to promote health equity to minimise health inequalities. We are interested in studies investigating the impacts on socioeconomic inequalities in health as well as inequalities between other social groups. 
Guest Editors include Professor Stefan Baral and Professor Gerry McCartney.

Public Health Emergencies: A Special Issue for the Journal Public Health

This special issue welcomes submissions from across the spectrum of public health emergency and disaster management, including emergency planning and preparedness, public health responses to emergencies and disasters, recovery from disasters, as well as mitigation and preventative public health actions. 
Guest Editors include Professor Lucy Easthope, Professor Gerard Fitzgerald and Professor Attila Hertelendy.
