A cooking instructor training programme provided by the Jamie Oliver company is the latest to receive accreditation from RSPH.
The five-day Jamie Oliver Train the Trainer programme is designed to equip individuals with the knowledge and support necessary to deliver their eight-week (12-hour) Ministry of Food and Learn to Cook cooking and nutrition skills programmes in communities throughout the UK.
RSPH’s accreditation assessment found the ‘train the trainer’ programme provides delegates with a thorough understanding of key nutrition messages, as well as how to create fun opportunities to teach others to cook healthy and nutritious meals from scratch. There are plenty of opportunities within the programme for trainees to practise delivering cooking and nutrition sessions themselves.
RSPH accreditation provides a rigorous independent evaluation of organisational training programmes and demonstrates adherence to the highest standards of training design and the achievement of key learning objectives. It is available to a broad range of clients covering nutrition, health and wellbeing, food safety and retail.

That is why the great work being done by the Jamie Oliver company is so important, and why we are pleased to add their training programme to the roster of exceptional training programmes and initiatives accredited by RSPH.
“Supporting and enabling people to make healthy food and nutrition choices is one of the most important aspects of our work, as demonstrated by our campaigns to introduce ‘activity equivalent calorie labelling’ for food and drink, ban fast-food takeaways from delivering to schools, and create healthier food environments on our high street, amongst other calls. Away from the headlines, we work hard day to day to deliver our nationally recognised nutrition qualifications.
“We are delighted to be able to recognise and support the Jamie Oliver training programmes, through our accreditation, as best practice initiatives which enable and encourage thousands of people across the UK who might not otherwise have the necessary skills to cook from scratch, while also disseminating importation nutritional knowledge in a fun and engaging way.”
